Funnyman. Never a dull moment. A barrel of laughs. These are some words that many people use when asked about Ronnel for he really is the life of the party and people around him do appreciate his making other people smile (and sometimes laugh hysterically). But what some people don’t know is Kampuger is anything but horsing around when the topic shifts to running and his recent passion ultrarunning.
Ronnel, who obtained his bachelor’s and post graduate degrees at the country’s premier state university and is an IT manager by profession, is quite passionate about running. One of his dreams is for people not just to take running as a sport but to make it as part of their daily lives and hopefully for them to learn what he has learned so far. Part of which are the lessons and inspiration he took home as a member of the 2010 Epic Relay team where he witnessed how an individual sport became a team effort.
He considers finishing the 2011 BDM 102 km run as his greatest running achievement and has his eyes set on finishing BDM 160 and then the 200 km run next as he powers his way to being an inspiration to others who want to try running longer distances. He is also mulling over the idea of suing tennis superstar Rafa Nadal over copyright infringement for copying his trademark Kagat Medal Moments.
