One of the most senior members of Takbo.ph and one of its site moderators, Ellen was the pioneer female member of TPB and has opened doors to countless others.  An aggressive runner whose heart could never be in question, this veteran shares her running smarts as one of the community coaches of the Adidas ANR program.  An up-and coming cyclist and triathlete, Ellen competed at her first Olympic-distance triathlon last February.

When did you start running? Why did you start running? April 2008. I was on a month-long training in SBMA, and noticed that there's an oval on the Remy Field. Basically, i just tried jogging to be fit and found that I loved it.
What is your favorite distance? Why? 21k for me is just right, neither too short nor too long.
What is your most memorable running moment? Event? Epic Relay 2010 and TNF100 Baguio (50Km)
Who are your running idols? Wilnar Iglesia, Chris Iblan, Ka Totoy
What was your weight before you started running? What is your weight now? Hmm, i don't normally keep track of my weight. I'm always in between 102-105 lbs.
How many pairs of shoes do you own? 9 adidas, 1 mizuno, 1 VFF
What was your "slowest" race? Milo Marathon July 2009, did 21k for an almost 3 hour finish, or was it 4? Haha. Walked the remaining 5Kms because of overhydration (felt nauseous, aww)
What are your usual pre-race activities? Nothing much really. Usually, i prepared my stuffs before I go to sleep. Breakfast depends on the distance that i'll be running. I drink Propel Gala or Pocari Sweat before the race.
What is your favorite non-TPB singlet? First Takbo.ph Singlet
What is your target race? What is your target finish time? no particular race as of the moment, but I'd like to improve my PR on 21k and marathon. Oh, there's Macau this year if I train right :)
Forefoot, midfoot, or heel? heel, I think. I'm learning midfoot-forefoot running
What was your worst injury? How long were you sidelined? got scared by achilles tendonitis after a 32Km run in Baguio (self-diagnosis mind you). Was preparing for my first marathon then. I had it checked a month after, and doc says pulled hamstring. Rested for two weeks with barely a month before the big day.
How many races have you raced already? What is your total mileage since you started running? haha, i'm not really one to track my races and mileage :p
How did you get into TPB? When did you join TPB? I think it was thru Mon Sunday or BongZ. I joined the PSE Bull Run 2011 for TPB Team.
What is your message to TPB fans and supporters? Thanks for the support. Hope to see you on the road. Holler if you see us. Fan din po ako, haha!
In your own words, what is running to you? Running is "me" time where I don't feel alone. Everyone and everything seems more vivid when I'm in the zone. Feels like the universe is aligned somehow (naks!)
If you are to create a running event what will you name it? It will be cool to have a Team Powerpuff Boys "FUN" Run
If you are to create a team of 5 runners for a 5 x 32 km race, who will your members be (can be anyone, runner or not, living or dead)? Hmm, characters from Justice League and X-Men came to mind, but then, hey, we've got the best from TPB :)
