The Team

Some of the members of TPB

So who are the Powerpuff Boys? They are an eclectic mix of runners from different walks of life, representing at least 3 countries. They represent different skill levels and different distance specialties; everything from 5K to 100 miles. What binds them is their passion for running, (in some cases) multisport, and in general a committed and disciplined approach towards an active and healthly lifestyle. Meet the Boys (…and Babes!) that make up the Team!

Bryan was the original team captain of Powerpuff Boys and spearheaded the team’s campaign at 2010’s Chris Sports Epic Relay. He proved to be a worthy leader in many ways, ensuring a selective recruitment process of 10 talented runners who became friends; arranging for all formalities and logistics surrounding the race; providing support, motivation and encouragement when it mattered most. Indeed TPB would not be where it was not if it wasn’t for Bryan’s involvement.

Eire is a bubbly and sociable original TPB support crew member that helped make the Team’s 2010 Epic Relay campaign possible. She has been on the Manila running scene since the inception of Takbo.ph and could be seen at many local running events throughout 2009 and 2010. She is also known as Doc Eire since she is a diploma’d opthamologist running her own clinic.

One of the youngest and friendliest guys in the team, Jay likes trying different activities as long as they are fun. That explains why you will see him doing boxing, swimming, skateboarding, playing basketball or billiards, or working out at the gym when not running.

Lito Brio represents the “old guard” of Manila’s running community. He has been active ever since the original running boom in the 1980’s, back when the level of competition was higher than it is nowadays. As a result of the many years of experience in running, Lito still paces with and outclasses most of the current generation of runners, which is why TPB enjoys having him in the line up.

There aren’t many people in the vast landscape of the Philippine running community that do not know Michelle Estuar by name or by face. Indeed she is arguably TPB’s most famous member, having been featured on the covers of various running and fitness magazines, as well as advertisements, both in Philippines and abroad. Michelle is a true blue athlete in every sense of the word, she lives and breathes sports virtually every waking minute of the day.

Roy is the dashingly handsome, soft-spoken older brother of original TPB captain Bryan Rivera (although some would believe that Roy was the younger sibling!). He is an “original 10” member, forming a part of the illustrious group that ran the 250 kilometers during 2010’s Chris Sports Epic Relay. He was also a part of the team’s first championship title at the 2010 Fort Running Fest in October of that year.

Sid has been a part of the Manila running scene since 2009, one of the early members of TPB’s “father family”, Takbo.ph. Before the formation of TPB he started, together with Mark Mulder, a rag-tag running club called Manila Road Runners. Sid was a part of Team Powerpufff Boys’ 1st place victory at the 2011 PSE Bull Run.
